Tertius Van Eeden is a solicitor specialising in criminal defence litigation and family law, representing clients at all levels of the Irish criminal justice system, including the District Court, Circuit Court, Central and Special Criminal Court.

Before establishing his own practice, Tertius trained with Dillon Eustace Solicitors and worked with well-regarded firms, gaining valuable courtroom and advisory experience across a wide range of cases. He has acted in high-profile matters and regularly advises clients through complex and challenging situations, always with a focus on achieving the best possible outcome.

THE HARRY GLEESON CASE

Tertius played a central role in securing the first posthumous pardon in the history of the Irish State. By working with the Justice for Harry Gleeson Group, he helped establish that Harry  Gleeson had been wrongfully convicted and executed in 1941. The case led to the formal recognition of a miscarriage of justice and exposed serious flaws in the original investigation and trial. It truly marked an important moment in acknowledging historic injustices and reaffirmed the need for fairness in criminal proceedings.
